PT & Safe Arrival

Our Little Man had his first visit with his physical therapist today and he was such a cooperative little patient. We learned so much today about Gavin's little condition. It is believed that the torticollus is a result of him being so smashed in the womb from being a large baby at birth.

We are confident that with the help of PT and us working with him at home that this is 100% correctable, However, we were informed today that this could be muscular or skeletal. Skeletal is much worse and not correctable, so we are prayerful that ours is muscular and can be corrected over time. The skeletal version is only diagnosable through Xray and we are going to try and avoid that for a while due to his age.

As his parents we refuse to accept that it could be skeletal and we stand strong in our belief that we serve an awesome God that is already at work on our sweet boys behalf.

The PT was very confident that she could correct this through several sessions a week and with us stretching him at home 5 times a day. I am sure we don't need to tell you that we are committed to do whatever we have to do in order to correct this immediately. The PT was not real optimistic that we would be able to avoid the helmet. Once again, we will continue to pray and believe that the ultimate healer will be in control of that too.

Part of the process of PT was determining the degree of the head tilt which was only 20 degrees. From our understanding Gavin has a very mild case. Our PT currently is working with a 6 month old that had a 40 degree tilt and it has been reduced to 17 degrees with only 16 therapy sessions ~ Praise God for that sweet baby.

We are believing that Gavin's condition is muscular and is going to show great improvements in the weeks ahead. We will also continue to pray that at his 6 month check up he will get a "that a boy" and avoid the helmet.

Thank you for your prayers and your kind words on behalf of our little man. I appreciate all the emails and I will continue to share with you how successful Gavin is going to be with his PT.

We arrived at our vacation destination and quickly got settled in for a few days of fun. I had to share with you that we pushed the 2 queen size beds together so the Frazier Four could snuggle up.

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:24
I'm claming this verse for sweet Gavin. Hope the Frazier four has a great vacation together!

My oldest son who is now 5 had the same condition. We had never heard of it until we were told he had it. We took him to therapy once a week and then we did what they told us to do at home with him. At first he screamed when we would do it and it was horrible to listen to that. After a few times he was used to it and he didn't cry anymore. After only about 2 months he was fine and he hasn't had any trouble since. Prayers for that sweet baby boy

I am so thankful that the Frazier Four arrived on their "cation" safely! I am so glad that you have the opportunity to get away for some rest, relaxation and renewal.

I am joining with you in praying that Gavin's condition is muscular and I am so glad that his is only 20 degrees. I know our God is able!

"And those who know Your name
will put their trust in You,
For You, O Lord, have not forsaken
those who seek You."
Psalm 9:10

My daughter, now 18 months, also had torticollis, and is completely healed now. Our PT was also WONDERFUL & I can tell you, you can be so thankful that yours seemed so great! Having someone who cares about your sweet baby is so important, because, as our PT explained during one session, while you are doing the therapy it is "throwing off" (I can't remember exactly how she explained it) their whole system - everything that they are used to. It was so hard on her little body at first, (and SO HARD for us to watch her cry) and she H-A-T-E-D the tummy time that was coupled with some of the therapy, but she gradually got used to it & now she's unstoppable! You'll be in our prayers. (Also, I'd love to tell you how I linked to you, but I just can't remember the map that brought me here - what a beautiful family you have!)

hey laura ann...i would totallly recommend the maxicosi piori. it does use the latch system on rear facing as well as forward facing. i love the maxi cosi brand & have been very pleased with their infant seats. we had a local cop install them when we first got them. he is specialized in carseat installation & has seen all the brands. he said that maxicosi is one of the best made brands! he just went on & on about them. the only downfall to the priori is that it only goes to 40 lbs. that is the only reason i was considering the britax, but we would have to buy a booster seat either way later on down the road. cooper wasn't with us when we bought it so we didn't get to fit him in it, but she did go over everything in detail & installed it for us too! the priori is cheaper than the marathon or the roundabout AND since we bought it in OK, we didn
t have to pay any sales tax! pretty cool...good luck with your decision!
